Stability Ball – Exercise Ball For Balance Training

The Stability Ball, also known as a Swiss Ball, is highly effective tool for training balance, stability, strength and flexibility. The Stability Ball is generally 65 centimeters and first came to popularity with its use by physical therapists. Now seen in every gym, Pilates studio and any workout facility, the Stability Ball has become a mainstay of personal trainers and can be added into any home workout.

Because of its unstable round and bouncy surface, the Stability Ball challenges its user to stay put on it. This encourages the use of deep muscles and helps to increase core strength. But just try lying on your back over the ball. This stretch is a little piece of heaven for anyone with a stiff spine.

The exercise ball also can be utilized as a bench. If you are working on your upper body with free weights, the ball can be substituted for a workbench. For a more challenging use of the ball, kneel on the ball and practice throwing a medicine ball to a training partner or a medicine ball rebounder.
